Preschool Director/Teacher

Hours:

• Full Time

Qualifications: 

  • State certified as outlined by the Colorado Social Services Department for Preschool Director

Reports to:

  • Academic Director, Executive Director

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• EEC Certification

Directorial Responsibilities:

  • Academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care, including children ages 3-4

  • Developing partnerships with birth parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation

  • Assuring compliance with codes of all state and local government contracting agencies

  • Working with other staff members of Longmont Christian School Interview parents of prospective students

  • Enrolling children on a first-come basis

  • Communicating with parents in a variety of ways

  • Planning well-rounded curriculum and implementing field trips

  • Planning summer program

  • Assisting staff in preparing daily, weekly, and yearly plans

  • Placing orders for necessary supplies and equipment

  • Planning for the evaluation of the students in relation to progress, abilities and special needs.

  • Maintaining a referral system for students with special needs

  • Contacting state for confirmation to health, safety, and licensing regulations

  • Keeping health history and reports for children

  • Planning and implementing procedures for keeping accurate class records.

  • Establishing a nutritious snack program

  • Welcoming visitors and arranging visits

  • Attending all staff meetings and participating in recommended training programs

  • Conducting parent/teacher conferences

  • Assuring that classroom environments are friendly, inviting, and supportive.

Classroom Responsibilities:

• Following/implementing curriculum
• Planning and preparing classrooms for daily activities to run smoothly and be understood for all who enter the room
• Creating a fun and loving environment for 10-20 students daily
• Communicating progress and daily activities with parents and members of leadership
• Staying current on all certifications and training
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom
• Serving children snacks and lunch
• Giving parents an oral report of activities and how the child did throughout the day
• Reporting to the Academic and Executive Directors
• May occasionally be required to drive a motor vehicle

Substitute Teacher

We’re Looking for a middle school baseball coach to fill for the 2019-2020 school year. Must be affiliated with a church and willing to be a mentor to middle school students.

•Contract, M-F, some weekends

•$500.00 /year
