LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Head Coaches must hold a current certificate in AED/CPR upon hire.
  • Assistant coaches must hold a current certificate in First Aid/CPR or a willingness to obtain.
  • All coaches must be a CDE licensed teacher or hold a valid Coaches registration with CHSAA upon hire.
  • All Coaches in Colorado must hold a current concussion certification from the NFHS
  • All Coaches must pass the CHSAA annual Coaches Exam.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to supervise students, enforce district, school, league and CHSAA rules and regulations.
  • Possess knowledge and skills in the specific sport.
  • Ability to plan, organize and successfully direct specific sport.
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent Policies, and building and department procedures.

DESCRIPTION: Longmont Christian School is seeking a full-time collaborative, engaging and skilled history teacher who has enjoyed success in high quality educational environments. This individual must understand the importance of teaching the whole child, demonstrate the ability to love and build community and have a passion to integrate the truth of Christ in all situations. LCS is seeking an individual who is passionate about teaching American History, World History, Geography and Civics.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Possession of teaching license in history/social studies education. Highly preferential: Master’s degree in content area; previous AP teaching experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated abilities, skills, knowledge as a history educator
  • Competency in teaching history from a Christian worldview
  • Commitment to LCS and its mission of excellence in academics, service and biblical truth
  • Understanding of “Christian Worldview” application at the secondary level
  • Ability to direct the integration of Bible into various content areas
  • Communicates well with people with many different perspectives
  • Commitment to building a quality, reputable history program
