Choir

The Longmont Christian School Choral Program is made up of sixth to twelfth grade vocalists. Most recently, the choirs performed their Fall Choir Concert premiering the first Alma Mater in the history of the school. This April choir members will be traveling to California to perform in Disneyland along with the Longmont Christian Jazz Band.

This year the choral students have written a mission statement for our program and it really defines what we ultimately strive to do. It reads:

The Choral Program strives to achieve through musical performance and vocal application the development of student musicality, artistry, spirituality, and intellectual growth. Furthermore, it is our foremost priority to spread the good word and carry out the Mission God has set before us. We do this through performing extensively in both the school and community, building a strong foundation of faith, friendship and School Pride for the entire Longmont Christian School through music.

Middle School Choir

Middle School Choir is open to students in sixth through eighth grades. This course encourages music appreciation by teaching students the skills necessary for individual and ensemble performances, including proper posture, breathing techniques, scales, music theory, singing as a group, and, when opportunities allow, singing as a soloist. Performance opportunities include several concerts throughout the year as well as participation in the ACSI Music Festival, singing the National Anthem at select LCS athletic home games, and Christmas caroling at the Zoo Lights each year. Private voice lessons are available as well.
